An often underestimated vulnerability
When planning burglar alarm systems, walls and ceilings are often given less consideration than traditional points of entry. Yet they can be specifically targeted for tampering or breaching, for example by drilling, chiselling or covert breaking-in.
This can create a significant security gap, particularly in security-critical areas such as banks, data centres or facilities for cash and valuables transport. Area-wide monitoring with capacitive sensor technology
Our capacitive breakthrough protection system enables comprehensive electronic monitoring of wall structures. It is based on a multi-layered structure comprising conductive fleece and insulating interlayers.
Three layers of conductive fleece form the sensor structure. The middle layer acts as the active measuring electrode and is flanked by two outer shielding layers. This ensures that the electric field remains within the structure. This design ensures high immunity to interference and enables reliable detection across the entire monitored area.
The sensor surface can then be painted over, making it visually inconspicuous.
Up to 50 m² with a Cx-1
We use our Cx-1 capacitive field-change detector for signal processing. Depending on the installation and environmental conditions, a single detector can monitor up to 50 m². Larger areas are covered using a modular system.
The Cx-1 automatically adapts to the prevailing environmental conditions. This simplifies commissioning and enables reliable monitoring even under varying structural conditions.
For new builds and retrofits
An important consideration for our customers is the ability to deploy the technology in existing buildings as well.
Our capacitive breakthrough protection system can be integrated into both new builds and retrofit projects. The system is installed directly onto the area to be monitored and can be adapted to existing pillars, beams, recesses and other structural features.
This makes the solution particularly suitable for projects where existing security concepts are to be specifically enhanced.
VdS Class C for high security requirements
For banks and other security-sensitive institutions, a technical solution alone is not sufficient. It must also meet the relevant regulatory and security requirements.
Our capacitive breakthrough protection system is certified to VdS Class C. The certification takes into account, amongst other things, tamper resistance, immunity to interference, detection performance and system stability. This provides a certified solution for applications with particularly high security requirements.
